Strategic Prayer

By prayfat

What would you like to see on a web site devoted to helping people pray by name for a change in the heart of each of the world’s most dangerous terrorists? What resources and tools would be most helpful?

We are totally excited about this blog and the vision of people joining in prayer for terrorists! I am looking forward to the Adopt-a-Terrorist web site as well – let us know when it is up.

    Keep up the good work!

To answer your question more directly, the “tools” I think of would just be basic facts about the person, and then suggestions of how to pray: what sort of opportunities might bring this person in contact with Jesus? What themes in this person’s speech or actions might suggest ways that we could ask the Spirit to minister to this person’s heart?

    Thank you Sean.

    1) Regarding the basic facts: The identity and basic facts for each are posted at http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/terrorists/fugitives.htm . I am hoping to duplicate the gallery and then write code that will import the information on each one into the web site and then count “adoptions” the way other web sites count votes. I’d like to configure an RSS feed associated with user profiles so that people can get headlines when news breaks on the particular terrrorist they have chosen to pray for. That part will involve an SQL data base and some PHP programing. Is there anyone out there who can help?

    2) Regarding suggestions of how to pray: Do you or others viewing this blog have ideas on how to present that? Perhaps a forum for registered users or links to materials that have already been developed? Or perhaps a wikiwiki page on ideas for prayer that’s written by users the way that wikipedia pages get written and edited?

It is about time we took seriously the command to pray for our enemies. It is my hope that our motive would be love for these people not just prayer for them to change thereby making us safer. (?) Some testimonies would be great. There was a Global Prayer Digest on terrorists a while back. Check their archives. God bless you and this ministry!

Thanks Pat. Good insight and great idea about testimonies. That’s a definite must include! After we’ve taken reasonable precautions of course.
